I can't say that I'm leaving dA, nor that I'll no longer see dA messages or deviations, but I found out that flickr is a ton more fun than dA (at least, for me) and I won't renew my subscription.
That's, in fact, a major issue! On flickr you don't need a subscription to have better navigational tools, like when you browse through a users photo thumbnails or see your friends recent "submissions"... as on dA that's not the case...
Also:
In just a few days I've posted almost as much photos on flickr that on my 2 years on dA...
I'm not saying that's anybody's fault, but the thing is: uploading to dA is a pain! It's somehow better now, but still too lengthy and too boring... (again, for me.)
Flickr on the other hand makes things easy and fun!
The "groups" concept is also a great feature!
But I guess dA also has its highlights, I won't try to cover that. dA has a great community, chat features, journal and all that, but still... I found flickr is less "difficult", if you know what I mean.
In the end:
I'm keeping what's best for me, dA for community and flickr for submissions.
I just remembered one curious thing: I still haven't published my photos of the last devmeet 'cos I can't bare the thought of submitting more than 1 photo at a time... although I thought of that many times. My apologies to everyone, I'll try to find a better way to show them to you (perhaps in flickr
Hugs and kisses!
